About Us

Founded in 2005, ForestRe is a niche global forestry agency for the insurance and reinsurance for all types of forests and industrial tree crop plantations, and the only significant London market for forestry insurance.

ForestRe engineers the transfer of risk from investors to insurers that is associated with investments into forests; conventional wood fibre production, industrial tree crops and projects delivering ecosystem services such as forest carbon, water quality, and other benefits.

Since January 2008, ForestRe entered into a Line Slip Agreement with leading Syndicates of Lloyd’s of London, for the provision of Insurance and Reinsurance of forests and tree plantations worldwide. The 2009 Syndicates supporting ForestRe are Ascot, Montpelier, Chaucer, Hiscox, Omega and ARK. Collectively they provide more than a 100% written line for each individual forestry risk. This line slip facility is administered by Kerry London Ltd together with Rattner Mackenzie Ltd for compliance and documentation.

Our team has over 60 years of experience in risk assessment and insurance product design for forestry and agriculture. Our expertise ensures that we model data to the highest standards. This in turn means bespoke products are designed by forestry professionals for practitioners in order to provide competitive rates.
