ForestRe, created in 2005, is unique in being the only global specialist forestry agency for the insurance and reinsurance for all types of forests and industrial tree plantations.

ForestRe engineers the transfer of risk from investors to insurers that is associated with investments into forests; conventional wood fibre production, industrial tree crops and projects delivering ecosystem services such as forest carbon, water quality, and other benefits.

From January 2008, ForestRe has entered into agreement with four Lloyd’s Syndicates of London: Ascot, Talbot, Chaucer, and Hiscox. The ground-breaking ForestRe – Lloyds Agreement provides a very significant addition to the global capacity available for the insurance and reinsurance of forestry. This line slip facility is administered by Benfield Group, London.
